What does this service do?
If you are familiar with catbox.moe or imgur, it is basically the same thing.
You can upload files and share them with others.
The files are stored on a server and can be accessed via a unique URL.
Files can be set to expire after a certain amount of time.
The service is free to use and does not require an account.
Does this service take my information?
The only thing that I need to know is your IP address, which is logged for moderation purposes.
Other than that, I do not take any other information.
I do not use cookies or any other tracking methods.
Plus I do not use any analytics, so I have no idea how many people use this service.
Oh and if you use a VPN, that's fine, I don't care.
Just don't be a jackass or I will ban the VPN from this service.
Is this service open?
If by open you mean open source, then no.
If you mean open to the public, then yes.
Or if you mean no rules/anarchy, no unless you encrypt your files.
Why is it not open source?
Open source is dead to me.
Plus the code is nothing special, its just a file server.
Does this service use anything I upload for AI purposes?
In this day in age, I wouldn't blame you for asking.
But no, anything that is uploaded is not used for anything other than sharing.
Plus this is running on a server that I pay the electric bill for, so I would be
crippling my power grid if I did. Also, I like to use my graphics cards for practical things.
Why are certain file types by themselves not allowed but zips of them are?
Two reasons:
1:Because files by themselves are inherentally more prone to be exploited even if I were to analyze them.
Along with that, I don't like having my service be used for evil purposes. So that is a pretty good reason for number 1.
2:ZIP files and by extention most other compression files are let resource impactful on my system that I run this from.
Plus if you actutally know what a ZIP file is then you are more knowledgeable than the average newfag on their overpriced POS laptop.

What is the likelyhood that my files will be cracked even if encrypted?
Well to be honest, until Mozilla (or more like the community of *fox browsers) makes additions to allow for post quantum algorithms native to the browser,
its always possible that your stuff can and will be able to be decrypted by brute-force or by your worst enemy...time. Though I will say, its unlikely that anyone
Will care if your things are encrypted or not, plus if you are really paranoid you can do the encryption on your PC first then do the browser encryption if you are really
that paranoid.
I could use something like Argon2-WASM or some varient of the mlkem768x25519-sha256 algorithm from the OpenSSH project but its just not worth it right now to do that for this

Again, I don't care. I think if you do own it you can share it how you like. Right or no rights, if you bought it you can do whatever you want with it.
If no one else can get X thing that someone else has then its okay to share. Thats my take, eat it with a small spoon.
Can I use your service to promote my stuff?
That depends, if you are using it for free, good-will reasons then sure. However; If you are using this to promote yourself for monitary gain then you can fuck off.

Do you have any way for me to support your work? Not at the moment, I do plan on doing that at some point in the future but for now I main just do this for fun in my freetime. Again, I don't like to profitize off my work, unless I put a LARGE amount of time into it. This is not one of those projects.

The seconds one is my more up to speed one.
Though I do talk through OpenPGP/GnuPG email encryption, so make sure that you have email encryption, or a client like Tuta or Proton that has OpenPGP support.
Please do understand though that I do have a job and other things going on so don't expect a speedy reply, I will try to respond when I can.
